Golden Globes'24

The 81st Golden Globes was held on 7 January, Sunday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California. It is a show that celebrates outstanding performance in motion pictures and television. A few categories are Cinematic and box office achievement, Actress in a musical or comedy motion picture, Drama motion picture, etc.

The ‘24 red carpet saw some phenomenal looks and all those who strode the carpet were clad in some of the best that fashion has to offer.

Here is a list of the top looks that left a mark on everyone's hearts!

Jonathan Bailey

Jonathan Bailey truly stunned us all in his all-white ensemble. The Bridgerton star took to the infamous all-white trend with a sleek Givenchy suit. The look consisted of a white button-up, a pair of wide-leg trousers, and a modish blazer, complimenting the whole look. He paired the same with a pair of black loafers and an Omega De Ville Trésor that made the whole look timeless and embodied old money.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift truly made the whole place shimmer in her custom Gucci dress by Sabato de Sarno. Her simple hair and makeup complemented the shimmery dress extremely well. While her makeup was kept classic, with blush pink lipstick and minimal eye makeup, her bangs and soft curls enhanced her features. Her dress had a straight silhouette with a slit down her leg that added the perfect level of spice to it. The dress showcased spaghetti straps that scooped the bust into a slight sweetheart neckline. Her dress was backless and was connected by three dainty straps. She paired the look with a pair of green pointy-toe pumps and an exquisite array of diamond jewellery from De Beers Jewellers. The jewellery included Diamond ear cuffs and two pairs of shoulder-length dangly earrings. She also wore a diamond bracelet and an assortment of diamond rings.

Hailey Steinfeld

Hailey Steinfeld caught several eyes with her pretty pink look. Her whole outfit resembled Audrey Hepburn’s classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s, from her hair to her heels, with a twist of Barbie! She wore a light pink dress paired with sheer black gloves and black pencil heels covered by her floor-length Prada dress. Her makeup was wispy and nude, truly channelling old Hollywood, and her hair was in an elegant and sophisticated updo. She wore a diamond necklace, a deer ring, and a pair of pretty drop earrings to complete the look. Her dress was backless, with a strap connecting the top and bottom, and was embellished with the prettiest bow.

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman has once again got us all worshipping her outfits. For the Golden Globes, she strutted in a beautiful Dior haute couture ball gown. For her hair, she embraced the ‘it-girl slick back ponytail’ and it could not have flattered her better. She chose a brown-toned makeup look with brown eyeshadow and under eye, complimented by a nude pink lip. Her dress, however, stole the show. The silhouette has been sported by her several times and the square neckline looked stunning. The ballgown is embroidered with thousands of magnificent microflowers using fine needlework. Every single tiny flower was hand embroidered to perfection! She also added a pair of De Beers diamond earrings which looked exquisite!

Charles Melton

Known and loved by all for his famous role as Reggie Mantle in the show Riverdale, Charles Melton was nominated for Supporting Actor in Motion Picture for his role in Netflix's May December. He took to the carpet in a Giorgio Armani suit which consisted of a navy blue blazer, paired with black straight-fit trousers and a black bowtie. To complement the look, he finished off with a pair of black formal shoes and a De Ville Trésor watch. He also accessorised with a diamond earring.

Jennifer Lawrence

Our favourite tribute arrived at the Golden Globes exuding quiet luxury in a Dior haute couture navy blue gown. The gown was very minimalist and was made of velvet. Her hair was kept down in a side part and her makeup fit the overall theme of minimalism with black eyeliner and blush pink lips. Her dress had an elegant V-neck and was cinched at the waist. She looked absolutely breathtaking and added to her look with a Tiffany & Co. necklace and earrings.

Brie Larson

Brie Larson, who was nominated for best performance by a female actor in a limited series, anthology series, or motion picture made for television for her role in Lessons in Chemistry, looked radiant and absolutely breathtaking in her periwinkle dress and point-toed heels. Her dress is scooped in the most feminine and exquisite sweetheart neckline, completed by her round diamond necklace from Kwiat. Her dress was a custom Prada that had a corset-style bust and waist which then gave way to a flared skirt. The dress flares out perfectly, with flawless pleats! The dress is everything and she could not look more stunning, as she paired it with point-toed pumps. She also accentuated the look with Fred Leighton's jewellery. Her hair is left in loose curls, framing her face and adding to the elegance of the dress. This just might be my favourite look of the night!

Angela Bassett

Angela Bassett was the talk of the town in her custom, off-the-shoulder Dolce & Gabbana velvet dress. The gown featured long sleeves, a low neckline, and the perfect silhouette. The dress was body-hugging and featured a bustier bodice that flowed into a modest train. Her hair was done in a 90s Hollywood way with curls in a side part which looked retro in the best possible way. She had on red tassel earrings from Lagos jewels that matched her lipstick and she truly was the best example of Old Hollywood there ever was! She accessorized the look with a simple silver clutch.
