New Year, New Me

Writer: niharikha tniharikha t

After 5 minutes of 2023, we’re already 2 weeks into 2024. To be honest, nothing’s seemed real since 2020. The fact that the pandemic started nearly 5 years ago is a harsh reality check.

5 years ago. That’s half a decade, But it still feels like yesterday that we were joining classes half awake and making up excuses for why our cameras weren't on or why our mics weren’t working.

The years that followed didn’t really register. It’s like we went to sleep in 2020 and woke up in 2024, wondering where the time went. Lost time that we can’t recover. It’s scary to think about, how four whole years went by in the blink of an eye.

This year, however, there’s a different energy in the air. Even if there isn’t, it’s time to start creating it. This is a year of change, where we start a new era, after coming out of hiding from the shadow of the pandemic. An era of personal growth, of new achievements, of new heights to reach. It’s time to make your New Year’s Resolutions- and keep them. It’s time to get rid of the old and in with the new. Old habits, old grudges, old burdens- there’s no room for it in 2024. Make this year count. Make it one to remember.
